About BackPorch Market
BackPorch Market is a Mom & Pop Specialty food Shop that has been in Grass Valley since 2006. Here you will find high quality artisan meats and cheeses, wines and entrees created from scratch.
Erik and Rose James purchased the BackPorch Market in the fall of 2017.
Erik, an Army veteran, graduated from Le Cordon Bleu (formerly The California Culinary Academy) in 1998. Erik's career has taken him from restaurants at the Pebble Beach Golf Course to K-Pauls's Louisiana Kitchen in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Erik worked for Atria Valley View in Walnut Creek before moving up to Grass Valley and purchasing BackPorch Market.
Rose was employed as an administrator in an east bay senior retirement community for 13 years. Rose now brings her love of food and helping others to the BackPorch Market and is learning new skills in the kitchen.
The BackPorch Market staff are friendly, experienced and excited to help you with your choices.
Kristina works in the front helping customers with their selections of cheeses and meats. She helps prepare some of the desserts offered at BackPorch. Kristina is the newest member of the Backporch family joining us in October 2017.
Faith prepares luscious desserts, creamy cheese tortes, yummy quiches and some frozen items. Faith has been with the Backporch family for 6 years.
Lynn creates the delicious fresh meat sandwiches and fresh salads. She also helps customers with their selections of cheeses and meats. Lynn has been with the Backporch family for 2 years.
Nick prepares the fabulous frozen entrees, soups and fresh pasta. Nick has been with Backporch family for 2 years.
